Let Love Rule

On Friday December 14, 2012, a tragic event occurred in the United States. Twenty-six lives were lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut as a result of one disturbed person. When I heard this, like most people, my heart was saddened by the news of so many innocent lives taken by this sensless act. I saw one news report of a 6 year boy describing seeing bullets fly past him. It's not fair for this or any other child's childhood memory to included gunfire and violence. A couple of weeks ago a similar occurrence happened in a Mall. Again, innocent lives lost. I don't know how this could have been avoided, I refused to dwell on things I can not change. But, I think this is a the perfect time to spread what Lenny Kravitz has been preaching from day one Let Love Rule.
I KNOW that when you let love rule in your life, only good things can happen. Sometimes we expect things, we look for things, we want things. Whether it's material or emotional, it's in our nature to want things. But the problem is how we handle the situation when things don't go our way or we are unable to get what we want. To this I say guns are not the solution, they only make a bad situation worst. I wish so many of these people who made poor choices and hurt others would have let love rule over their situation ("We got to be strong, we can't do this alone, we got to let love rule".. LK).
I want to send my condolences to all those families affected by tragedies this year, you are not alone in this. Lenny, I applaud you for not wavering in your message of peace and Let Love Rule, I get it.

@Norma I didn't know you were so close to the events that occurred. I hope your kids are handling this ok. This is a parent's worst nightmare, I just hope these families and friends stay strong and no more tragedies result from this.

Last week I took my kids out of school early and we spent the day in Sandy Hook. It's town just a few minutes away. We had lunch and laughed as we walked to a toy store near by. It was so much fun that I promised my kids we would do it again soon. My heart breaks for the families who lost loved ones due to this unthinkable act of violence. And for the children of my family members and friends that spent that Friday locked in a closet at school because no one knew what was happening. Guns and violence are never the answer. I know from the outpouring of love from all over the world that there is good in this world. That people do believe in the message of love. Please keep the families in Newtown, as well as others who have experienced such awful acts, in your thoughts and prayers. Keep your light shining and let love rule!
