The drive for renewable energy sources has been largely impacted by the hefty funding of solar panels produced by the German Renewable Energy Act. The focus towards renewable energy has been driven by the German Renewable Energy Act which has heavily funded the adoption of solar panels; helping to reduce the production price of photovoltaic (PV) panels. Efforts have been aimed toward the development of renewable energy as a direct result of the subsidization of solar panels through the efforts of the German Renewable Energy Act. As a result of the expenditures of the German government, the cost of photovoltaic (PV) panels has been greatly lowered. Germany hopes to have at least 35% of its electricity produced from green sources by 2020, with green energy making up over 80% of German energy use by 2050. A commitment of $2 billion per annum toward green energy research has been laid out by the Germans in hopes of achieving its goals. Globally, the German actions have been successful in effecting the cost of PV panel parts. gaston county gis
