When I attended a Lenny show at the Beau Rivage in Bilox, MS, I couldn't believe how close I was to the stage and to HIM. It was an incredible experience; I was completely enraptured
After the show, Lenny was signing autographs on anything you gave him to sign. I was so engrossed in watching his every move and interactions with his fans that I completely forgot about the ticket I could have given him to sign
I just knew I would be able to at least say hi to him if I stuck around until the crowd thinned a little more. I was waiting patiently for my chance when I became incredibly hot and thirsty. I was getting hotter, thirstier, then a little weak so I had to leave to get something to drink and get my bearings before I fainted or something
So I made my way to a little bar inside the casino where I quickly sat down and ordered a BIG glass of ice water. About that time I met a newly married Louisiana couple. I loved hearing them talk, they were dripping with the Cajun dialect. They said they had been to Lenny's show too but left because it was so hot in the venue. Well, that was a relief, but I know they could not have been as hot as I was to meet Mr Kravitz.
I had gotten rehydrated and my bearings were back when I thought maybe I still had a chance to meet Lenny. After all there was reserved seating ( a relaxing couch and table) available for maybe an after set for Lenny to relax and mingle with his fans a little more. Just when I had this "brilliant" idea form in my head, I spotted a girl I saw at the show at the bar. We started up a conversation about the show, the signing of autographs; she even showed me a pick that Lenny gave her.
Then she picked me by busting my bubble of meeting Lenny with these words after I suggested that maybe there would be an after set in the bar for Lenny. She said, "Oh no, He's already on the bus on his way to Miami"
Well, there's my tale of a missed opportunity to meet Lenny Kravitz
How can anyone be too HOT to meet Lenny?
